Never use alcohol as the answer to stress. While enjoying a beer or glass of wine when out with friends is considered acceptable, turning to alcohol every night, especially in excess, is asking for serious trouble. It can actually create more stresses, and in some extreme cases, addiction.

At your job or any work environment, it is best if you have some control over the music you can listen to, this can help you feel much better. Choose calming, low-key music that will keep you relaxed. If you play upbeat music, make sure it has a happy tempo and lyrics.

If you have a significant other, take him or her to a restaurant for a candlelight dinner. This will focus your attention on the one you love so that you can enjoy yourself for the moment and not worry about past and future events.

To keep anxiety at a minimum, always conduct yourself and your affairs honestly. Even telling little white lies adds to your stress as you will worry about the truth being revealed.

Close your eyes and envision yourself relaxing under the hot sun next to a tropical pool or taking a hot, soothing bubble bath, and visualize all the stress you feel leaving your body. Taking a few seconds to relax and imagine something calming will help dramatically to lower stress levels.
